Neuropsychiatry

Neuropsychiatry is a discipline that studies the neurological basis of mental illnesses and behavioral disorders.

Today we can define two separate branches of this discipline: neurology and psychiatry.

Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), peripheral nervous system and muscles, while psychiatry deals with the study of the origin, mechanism of origin, form, distribution, prevention and treatment of mental illnesses and disorders, as well as psychiatric rehabilitation of patients .
